Practicum Block 1
- Below Proficiency Math Class
- In my first practicum experience I worked with students who tested below proficiency in helping them to understand concepts that needed more in depth explanation. This allowed me to get a feel for teaching math, but it also showed me how rewarding it is to see your students improve over time.
- Marketplace for Kids Day Presentation at the Heritage Center
- I was able to learn then teach elementary school students from around North Dakota about the history of different populations within the state
- St. Bernard Mission School
- During multiple visits I taught students spelling in which they read the words back to me and spelled them for me, among other activities and games to help bond and just have fun.
- Camp Comet Summer Camp, Fairbanks, AK (2017-)
- I have worked as a camp counselor at Immaculate Conception School in Fairbanks, AK for three years. I have had to learn to work with children from grades 1st-5th with a variety of needs, ranging from behavioral to developmental. I have created and implemented activities throughout the program that promote creativity and positive relationships with their peers.
